A call for every Christian to move from shallow living to deep faith.
In The Dangers of a Shallow Faith, renowned theologian A. W. Tozer warns believers in Christ against the great danger of spiritual lethargy. He urges Christians to be aware of the times in which they live and to recognize how attempting to live a life for God on autopilot will actually undermine their faith. For Tozer, the risks are so significant that "breaking out from the tyranny of spiritual lethargy - whatever the cost - should be the number-one priority of every Christian".
In this compilation, followers of Christ will discover anew the importance of standing boldly against spiritual and moral slumber. They will also see the importance of remaining awake in the face of constant temptation and distraction. Discover the spiritual awakening and change the Holy Spirit can bring to your life as you surrender completely to God and walk in a deeper faith!

I love Tozer, but the two edited by Snyder books I have don't sound quite like the usual Tozer. When I ran into a reference to the "internet" (p 156) it was clear that Snyder has done some signficant editing to "update" Tozer. It would have been nice if there were footnotes about what was Tozer's writings and what are Snyder's revisions. The only edit I would have liked to see from Tozer's original 1950s stuff is an update to a modern Bible translation in the quotes - but Snyder left the KJV and apparently tried to update Tozer's writings instead. Recommend reading the real Tozer books first.Product details

The Dangers of a Shallow Faith Awakening from Spiritual Lethargy (Audible Audio Edition) A W Tozer James L Snyder Jon Gauger Oasis Audio Books Reviews
When you see spiritually as A. W. Tozer did, you would be writing as he does. Potent, blantant and as direct as possible. He saw the problem and the solution, and we are worse off today than his time. He was never ashamed to say Western churches are dying, and his love for Christ tells us how to live again. If you aren't awakened after reading this book, you better check your pulse. 2 Cor. 135
so practical, full of wisdom and conviction, tozer tells it like it is and is committed to biblical truth, my favorite Christian author, always gets you thinking and inspired to seek God's face, I think this book is especially good for young people to read because of its practical wisdom and emphasis on daily disciplines like prayer and bible reading to grow close and stay near to the Lord.
One of Tozer's best! His books are always inspiring and truth finding like no other. His ability to "Rightly divide the truth" is excellent
only Tozer can present this "in your face" faith that speaks to the heart. God uses him faithfully and Im grateful that Tozer lets Him use his books as an instrument of righteousness. Takes courage in this time and age. Takes courage to be a Believer...anyone can break the law and be a jerk, but it takes courage to bring a Bible to school, etc. you know where im going with this.....Never stop sharing, Tozer.
I asked God to send me resources that would re-awaken my wonder of who He is and what He has done. This was part of His answer to my prayer. I always figured Tozer didn't have much to say to this generation. Was I ever wrong. I saw myself ... my church ... in so many places throughout the book. How can we hope for revival in the church at large if we are personally content to sleep, compromise and grow stale. Tozer's words inspire us to say, "Let the change begin with me."
This is a fantastic read, as well as a solemn warning to today's church. Even though Tozer died in 1963, he was very concerned about the Church in his day, and could see the steady decline that was to come, and has come. This book is a must read for any Christian who is not absolutely rock solid sure that they are saved.
The Word of God challenges us, as Christians to be the "Salt and Light" of the world. For the Christian this is not a mere suggestion from the Word, but rather His command to be His light in a world snarled by an immoral and un-believing culture. But are we being that salt and light?. How have we become so contented with our Christianity while so many are going to hell around us? Why won't we go into "Samaria, Judea, and in the uttermost parts of the earth?" Why are we sleeping Christian? This book is both your challenge-and wake-up call. Put on the "whole armour of God" and go to the battlefield with the Word of HOPE- to give HOPE and offer SALVATION to a dying and miserable world.
